Opinion Leader's Academy 2012/2013

Opinion Leaders Academy 2012/2013

Who is a leader of opinion?

Adam Smith holded, that a person who performs public functions should be distinguished by only one feature - he must be morally impeccable, and in all the other issues he would find advisors.

Opinion leader is a person who, because of his knowledge, experience, functions performed and a positions held can be a source or reference point for forming an opinion about the modern world, events and important information.

He must not only have a definite opinion on the subject, but should be able to argue in a logical manner, and the information he issues into the world should be real, concise, competent, credible and reliable.

Opinion leaders are characterized above all by a strong moral backbone. They shape the modern world of the information age. Do you want to be one of them?

During the two semesters in our Opinion Leaders Academy it would be possible to find answers to questions that have always intrigued you and perhaps, which still have been looking for answer.

What do I believe in?

Christianity has been giving us the confidence of accuracy and fairness of our choices for two millennia so far. If you believe and have a much broader perspective than worldliness, you can be sure that you are going in the right direction, and your plans would be realized. If you still have doubts, we would help you to get back on the right track by giving lectures on ethics, the Social Doctrine of the Church and theology.

Who I am, where do I come from?

The basis of our identity is continuity. We need to know our story, both in terms of individuality and community. Lectures on history, philosophy and sociology would help you to discover your identity and place in the world.

What do I do, what do I think, how do I choose?

We live in the age of information, in a rapidly changing world, where it is very easy to get lost, to be subjected to manipulation. We should learn to choose, select valuable information from the worthless, and harden against actions of "spin doctors", PR-specialists or ideologues. That aim would be realized by the classes in media theory, international relations and journalism.

Where am I going, who would I like to be?

We have freedom of choice, we can shape the reality in which we live. How should the community where the highest values are respected and the state creates conditions for the development of all, look like? You would learn that at the lectures on economics, political science and law.
